Tasks
Task no.1
Issued by organiser or scanning QR code
Make a plan with your coach on which tasks you will perform to gain control over the following skills:
  • Choosing the most appropriate methods to protect personal data and privacy in digital environments
  • Evaluating the most suitable methods to use and share personally identifiable information while protecting yourself and others from harm
  • Evaluating the adequacy of privacy policy statements regarding the use of personal data

Examples to develop these skills:
In a world where digital technology plays an increasingly important role in our daily lives, it is important to be aware of the risks and threats that can affect our personal data and privacy. Therefore, it is crucial to choose the right methods to ensure our digital security.
  • A practical way to practice this is by critically examining the security settings of your digital devices and accounts and making adjustments where necessary. For example, consider using strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and regularly updating software. Additionally, you can inform yourself about the risks of phishing, malware, and other forms of digital fraud, and learn how to recognize and prevent them.
  • When it comes to sharing personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, and date of birth, it is important to realize that this information can be misused. By considering, for example, which information you share on social media, you can protect yourself and others from possible harm. For example, make sure you do not share personal information with unknown people or organizations and regularly check and adjust the privacy settings of your social media accounts.
  • Finally, it is important to read and understand the privacy policy statements of digital services such as websites and apps. These statements contain important information about how the service provider handles personal data and what rights you have regarding this data. By critically evaluating and comparing these statements, you can make the right choices about which digital services you do and do not want to use and how best to protect your personal data.
  • A practical example of practicing the evaluation of suitable methods could be when choosing the right methods to develop a new digital service. Various factors must be taken into account, such as the target audience, available budget, technical possibilities, competition, and market trends. To evaluate suitable methods, you must be able to weigh the different options against each other and consider the pros and cons of each method. This can be done, for example, through a cost-benefit analysis, where you weigh the costs and benefits of each method against each other and choose the method that offers the most benefits. Another way to evaluate suitable methods is by conducting tests or experiments. For example, you can try out different methods and see which method works best for the specific problem you want to solve.

By practicing the evaluation of suitable methods, you not only develop your problem-solving skills but also learn how to think critically and select the most appropriate solutions for a specific problem.

But it doesn't stop there - increase the value of your badge by adding your learning process and achievements to your badge. This enables potential employers to gain a better understanding of your digital skills.
